Channeling My Inner Domestic Diva

Richard has been hinting that he would love me to make homemade bread for him for the past 11 years. I have just pretended not to hear him, because to be totally honest, there are a lot more things I want to do with two hours of my life than make homemade bread! But, I finally gave in when my sister's neighbor gave me a sourdough starter. I felt so domestic. I was a little proud of my hard work when Kaela told me our house smelled like Great Harvest. Amanda's homemade raspberry jam made it taste even better (hugs Amanda!). It still was A LOT of work and not something I am planning on doing on a regular basis (I had to put that out there so Richard didn't get his hopes up). I think it will be a little sooner than another eleven years, every now and again for a treat. Here's to learning something new!

I never make homemade bread because I love it too much! I eat it all. So that's great that it can be a yummy treat for your family every once in a while. Good for you!

mmm, mmm, yummy! way to go! Your picture is gorgeous. Baking bread is a lot of work but so worth it. I married into a bread-making family, it always makes me feel like such a domestic goddess when I put forth the effort.

It looks delicious and professionally baked-but I am sure it tasted even better. Congrats on your bread making. No one of my ambitions either.

I am totally impressed. . . that looks fabulous, and now I'm hungry! :)

I love baking bread-it relaxes me! And nothing smells or tastes better than fresh home made bread. Good job!

WOW! Now that is a skill! Way to go girl! Looks great!

Maybe I'll let your example inspire me... someday! But in the 95 degree heat, the LAST thing this prego-mama wants to do is stand on my feet kneading bread and heating up my kitchen for one measly loaf that my hubby and kids would devour in 5 seconds flat! For now I am going to stick with my bread-maker if I happen to get a domestic itch for anything other than just a trip to the bakery! :)

Amen to doing other things with your time! It's hard to justify it when you can run to a bread store and get fantastic bread... w/o the work!

Good for you though! Sounds extra yum with homemade jam!

Hello you blogging SLACKER!! What is the deal? You bake one batch of bread and now you're out of commission for the rest of the year? GEEEEEZ.
You act like you've been working hard to finish a basement and prepare lessons for preschool or something.

Of course you have been way too busy to blog which is why I just want to give you a hard time and say thanks for back to school night. You are the cutest teacher EVER!
